Notary fees in Germany are set by law, which ensures a high degree of transparency and guarantees that the fees are the same throughout the country. By linking notary fees to the value of the transaction\u2014rather than to the amount of work involved\u2014the system ensures that everyone can access the services of a notary regardless of their financial circumstances or the complexity of the matter. A comprehensive study by Harvard University on the cost structure of real estate transactions has shown that notaries in Germany not only provide a high degree of legal certainty, but that notary fees are also low by international standards.<\/p>\n

And the statutory fees offer a further advantage: legal advice is always included in the notarization fee. This applies regardless of the complexity of the matter and the amount of time we spend on it. Separate fees for advice or the preparation of a draft therefore only arise if no notarization is subsequently carried out.<\/p>\n
